This is a really good idea because the handles are meant to support the basket when it is FULL, which most shopping bags are not designed to do. It would be REALLY, REALLY good if it was about half as big again for grocery shopping purposes. My mother had a basket similar to this one, made in Australia in the late1960s, that was about half as much again as this one is, in size.
